Choosing your tools
What is the difference between masters, molds, and finished dice?
Masters are the originals used to make silicone molds. Molds are tools for casting resin dice. Handmade finished sets are the dice intended for your gaming table. Printed masters are not playable dice.
Which mold do I need?
Choose a numbered mold for numbered dice. Blank insert molds create unnumbered inserts for shell-style dice. The advantage mold has two D20s; the eight-D6 mold makes matching six-sided dice. Check the product page for the included shapes.
Do blank inserts fit any numbered mold?
The blank insert mold is sized for the matching IceShadow numbered nine-dice mold. Contact Dustin about compatibility with a previous purchase or another mold before ordering.
Are the dice and masters in mold photographs included?
Standard mold listings include the mold and lid. Dice and masters shown alongside them are examples. The custom mold-and-masters listing explicitly includes the masters.
Custom projects
Can I use my own font or logo?
Yes. Custom masters offer font, logo or symbol, shape, and sizing choices. Provide a font licensed for commercial use and artwork you have the rights to use. OTF or TTF font files and clear black-and-white artwork are requested; vector artwork is preferred.
Will I see the design before production?
Digital renderings are provided for approval before printing. For custom masters, reflected-light proof videos are also provided for final review after finishing, before shipment.
What is the difference between seven and nine dice?
Seven-dice custom sets include one D4 in your chosen shape plus D6, D8, D10, D%, D12, and D20. Nine-dice sets include standard/caltrop, crystal barrel, and teardrop D4s plus the other six dice.
Which finish should I choose?
The 800-grit finish is satin and needs more polishing for a high-gloss surface. The polished option is hand-finished using abrasives down to approximately one micron. Compare the options on the Custom Masters page.
Ordering and support
Where do I place my order?
All purchases are placed through Etsy. Product pages link directly to the corresponding Etsy listing, where you select options and complete checkout.
How long will my order take?
Processing depends on the product and configuration. Review the current Etsy listing for timing; custom design approvals and revisions can affect the schedule.
Where can I check shipping and returns?
See the individual Etsy listing and shop policies for shipping destinations, processing times, and return eligibility. Contact Dustin through Etsy Messages before returning anything or if there is a problem with your order.
Do silicone molds last indefinitely?
Silicone molds are consumable tools and wear with use. Small tears can lead to flashing that needs cleanup. Follow the instructions for your specific mold and contact Dustin with questions about casting results.
